Abstract
A characterization is given of the class of operators which commute with the core of a nest algebra modulo its Jacobson radical, and of those projections which commute with every member of the nest algebra modulo its radical. A precise description is given of those operators which commute modulo the radical with every member of the nest algebra of a nonatomic nest of uniform multiplicity one.
