Abstract

A structural investigation of liquid barium borate (BaB 2 O 4 ) was done using a high temperature X-ray diffraction method in order to characterize the melt structure just after melting from α- or β-BaB 2 O 4 . The results suggest that there is a small difference in the melt structure just after melting, and it may be attributed to the difference in the Ba-O correlation at 0.37nm between α-phase and β-one
