Abstract

English vocabulary learning strategy is the key point whether English learning can achieve or not. In China, English learners are influenced deeply by traditional Chinese linguistic learning methods. They recite English vocabulary mechanically, but know little about the vocabulary learning strategy. The purpose of this study is to investigate some vocabulary learning problems that EFL learners have and analyze some main vocabulary learning strategies based on smart-phone. According to Bloom’s Taxonomy, there are six levels of cognitive learning and each level represents a hierarchy. In the process of English vocabluary learning, there also exists different levels. Only master the previous level, can learners reach the next level. The study made a questionnaire on 100 participants in an application-oriented university, and then utilized convenience from nonprobability samplings to choose 5 participants to make a semi-structured interview. Finally, the study comes up with the integration of some traditional vocabulary learning strategies and new vocabulary learning strategies based on network technology and mobile terminal, which will let EFL learners make full use of network resources and master English vocabulary better.
