Abstract

The optimal storage capacity of a perceptron with a finite fraction (1−s) of sign constrained couplings has been computed recently: the basic result is that the capacity is (1+s)/2 times the capacity without sign constraints. In the case of null stability, I show that this simple relation is readily obtained in the geometrical approach a la Cover. Moreover this provides an interpretation valid for any value of the stability.
