Abstract

Effective static exponents are calculated in the de Gennes model for isotropic-to-nematic phase transition. Applying parquet approximation we show that there are no stable fixed points for s⩾4. The dynamic exponent is evaluated in d⩽6 dimensions with the linear response theory.
