Abstract

An accurate discrete-time model of a voltage-fed boost converter, which operates under the discontinuous mode (DCM), is derived. Based on this, bifurcation and chaos analysis is carried out to obtain a relationship equation of parameters, which exactly determines the ranges of parameters for the steady operation of the boost converter. Compared with an existing approximate discrete model, the proposed model has unique merits in exhibiting and explaining the boost converter's non-linear phenomena.
