Abstract

The patterns of propagation of elastic surface waves in a layered geophysical medium, which can be used in the search for buried inhomogeneities, are studied. Relationship for the main informative parameters in the known surface-wave amplitude methods of seismic exploration are established based on numerical modeling. The results of calculating the sensitivity curves of ellipticity and the relative amplitude of surface waves to variations in the velocity of shear waves in layers located at different depths are presented.
