Abstract

The author discusses mathematical analysis of works in the plastic arts by a Markov chain within the frame of the Monte Carlo method. The two procedures are discussed with particular references to their interrelations and their use in attempting to analyze artistic creativity with the aid of computers. He demonstrates that the two procedures can be applied together. Illustrations of several art works that were made in this way are presented.
