Abstract

RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) system has found its enormous application in healthcare, consumer electronics and home appliances. It is also assumed that RFID system along with sensing devices would act as central roles in the Internet of Everything paradigm. In RFID system, the tag and reader interact with radio waves, so security and privacy issues are important concerns in RFID system. In RFIDSec 2014, Li et al proposed a privacy preserving RFID authentication protocols [1]. In this paper, we show that Li et al's protocols suffer from security weaknesses, in particular, the protocols fails to achieve authentication of tag. We provide countermeasures to fix the flaws in [1] with providing additional efficiency.
