Abstract

The features of grain boundary disclination splitting in nanocrystals are theoretically examined. It is shown that there are three basic variants of such splitting as a relaxation process which are specified by different values of elastic-energy decrease. Also, the contribution of disclinations as strengthening elements to processes of plastic deformation in metallic glass nanocrystal composites is discussed.
