Abstract

In this paper, excellent light harvesting ability of plasmonic structures based on metal-2D material junction has been explored for simulation and analysis of fiber optic relative humidity sensing. The influence of various 2D materials/heterostructure has been analyzed. Angular interrogation and intensity interrogation method have been used. The graphene-based sensor probe shows the highest CPF (171.11 dB/%RH). Further, with intensity interrogation method, the limit of detection (LOD) achievable with graphene-based and WS2-based sensor probes is as fine as 6.8 × 10−4 %RH whereas the LOD for angular interrogation method is 4.1 × 10−3 %RH.
