Abstract

The effect of varying the on-shell reaction matrix elements (phase shifts) on the half-off-shell reaction matrix elements has been investigated by using second-rank separable potentials. It is found that K ( p, k; k 2) is determined primarily by the on-shell data up to p or k, whichever is larger. The influence of the on-shell data beyond this, though dependent on the nature of the interaction, is found to be very little.
