Abstract
This letter aims at comparing the reconstruction capabilities of standard beamforming and a linear inverse scattering approach. The analysis is carried out in terms of resolution limits, which are evaluated by using the Rayleigh criterion based on the investigation of the main lobe of the point spread function. A specific measurement configuration dictated by a through-the-wall radar prototype developed by IDS—Ingegneria dei Sistemi S.p.a. is considered, and both simulated and experimental data are processed.
