Abstract

In stoichiometry-dependent reactions, dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) reacts with acyl fluorides, R fC(O)F (R f = F, CF 3), to yield CH 3SCH 2F and R fC(O)OCH 2F, while CH 3SCH 2Cl and FC(O)OCH 2Cl are obtained with COClF. Oxalyl difluoride, C 2O 2F 2, reacts with DMSO to give CH 3SCH 2F and FCH 2OCH 2F.
