On the Question of Critical Theory Today

Abstract

The task of this article is to renew the discussion about the theoretical structure which includes both analytical and normative elements. The main theoretical problem analyzed in the article is the identification of analytical and normative elements in the structure of critical social theory and the analysis of the relationship between these elements in contemporary practice theories. The article seeks to answer the question why the concept of critique in contemporary practice theories is changed by the concept of reflexivity. The article aims to emphasize the implications of this „innocent“ terminological change for contemporary critical social theories, distinguished from early Critical Theory of Frankfurt School.

Šiądienos kritinės teorijos klausimu

Frankfurto mokyklos teoretikai pabrėžia istorijos komponentų svarbą teorijai ir tyrimams, tačiau problema, kaip teigia šios tradicijos tęsėjai, yra ta, kad ankstyvoji kritinė samprata „pernelyg įsišaknijusi marksistinėje istorijos filosofijoje, kuri nepaiso inovacinių Durkheimo arba pragmatizmo idėjų“ (Honneth 1987; 356–7), kaip ir Maxo Weberio bei Georgo Meado teorinių veiksmo programų, kurios suteikia sociologijai autonomiško mokslo statusą (Honneth 1991; 30). Verta prisiminti, – jei šiandieną drąsiai kalbame apie teorijos ir praktikos (nuo pernelyg dažno vartojimo visiškai nuvertėjusių žodžių) tarpusavio įtampos sunykimą, – kad paskiri kontekstiniai, situaciniai, vietiniai praktikos teorijų momentai, produktyvūs ar neproduktyvūs, yra integrali socialinių klausimų, bandančių užčiuopti ryšį tarp fragmentiško darbo pasidalijimo visuomenėje pobūdžio ir savito visos visuomenės gyvenimo būdo, dalis Ryšio tarp teorijos ir praktikos požiūriu, paskiri profesinio darbo pasidalijimo fragmentai yra ne tik konkretūs praktiniai, bet ir rišlūs socialiniai! Kitaip tariant, verta prisiminti, – jei šiandieną drąsiai kalbame apie teorijos ir praktikos (nuo pernelyg dažno vartojimo visiškai nuvertėjusių žodžių) tarpusavio įtampos sunykimą, – kad paskiri kontekstiniai, situaciniai, vietiniai praktikos teorijų momentai, produktyvūs ar neproduktyvūs, yra integrali socialinių klausimų, bandančių užčiuopti ryšį tarp fragmentiško darbo pasidalijimo visuomenėje pobūdžio ir savito visos visuomenės gyvenimo būdo, dalis
