Abstract

Phase analysis studies on the Re x M 1− x O 2 systems ( M = V, Mo, W ) performed by means of X-ray powder photographs of samples prepared 1000K – 1225K have established the existence of the following phases: ReO 2− VO 2: REo 2 (orh) for 1> x >0.94 and VO 2(mon and tetr) for 0< x <0.5 ReO 2− MoO 2: ReO 2 (orh) for 1> x >0.70. No. homogenity range of MoO 2. ReO 2− WO 2: No mutual solubility nor anyintermediary phases Metal-metal distances in the orthorhombic rhenium dioxide phases, derived from powder photographs, show slight changes with the x value.
