Abstract

Studies were made on the recrystallization of pure zinc and the alloys Zn-0.08 Al-0.04 Mg, Zn-0.58 Pb-0.02 Cd and Zn-0.9 Cu (in wt.%). It has been ascertained that texture and temperature of recrystallization depend on the schedule of cold deformation. It has been shown that the reason of this dependence are the differences in orientation and density of the recrystallization nuclei formed during deformation. The primary recrystallization of zinc and its alloys takes place according to the theory of oriented nucleation. Preferred nuclei are (0001) (1120) slip bands which arise, in quantities depending on deformation schedule, during multiple slip in (0001) and systems or during double coplanar slip in the (0001) plane.
