Abstract

Within the framework of GRT we consider equilibrium configurations of a self-gravitating nonlinear scalar field of a type that in cosmology is one of the models of an inflaton field. We show that such configurations for a suitable choice of parameters of the system of a gravitational and a scalar field can form wormholes and cosmic strings with different values of the azimuthal angle defect.
