Abstract
Small-angle elastic particle-transfer processes in nuclear reactions are discussed, using Li/sup 6/ bombarded by deuterons or alpha particles as an example. Li/sup 6/ may be thought of as being composed of He/sup 4/ + d, and the possibility of transfer of the d to the incident alpha , or of the He/sup 4/ to the incident d, is explored. The existence of the transfer is dependent on the collision time between the incident and target particles, and on the time required for the particle transfer to occur. The possibllity of a back-and-forth shuttling of the resonantly transferred particle is also considered. (T.F.H.)
