Abstract

The dispersion energy of a system involving an arbitrary number of microparticles at different temperatures is calculated. The resonance enhancement of the dispersion force between two “cold” microparticles in the vicinities of their eigenfrequencies due to multiparticle interaction with the “hot” surroundings is shown. The effect is demonstrated at the characteristic frequency range for the vibrational and rotational transitions of molecules. The model of two coupled oscillators excited by the third one is suggested to clarify such the enhancement.
