Abstract

Laboratory study was performed to examine the extraction of rare-earth elements and americium with a synergic mixture of chlorinated cobalt dicarbollide (ChDC) and di-2-ethylhexyl phosphoric acid (D2EHPA). It was shown that this extractive agent effectively extracts TPEs and REEs from a nitrate solution of highly radioactive wastes and can extract americium into a separate fraction with good purification to removes. The scheme suggested for extractive isolation of TPEs has a number of advantages over the schemes previously taken for verification.
