Abstract

The parametric decay instability of microwaves with extraordinary polarization is analyzed that leads to their anomalous scattering by oscillations of the intermediate frequency range, localized in the edge transport barrier of a fusion installation. This effect can occur during electron cyclotron heating of the plasma at the second harmonic of the resonance frequency by multi megawatt microwave beams.
