Abstract
We present angle-resolved photoemission data on the Fermi surface topology and conduction band dispersion in the layered metal 2H–NbSe 2. The experimental results yield strong evidence that the charge density wave instability in this material is driven by Fermi surface nesting and not by saddle point singularities.
