He was a research associate and acting instructor in mathematics at Stanford from 1946 to 1948, and he has been a lecturer in mathematics in the College of Special and Continuation Studies of Maryland University since the spring of 1949. From 1941 to 1946 he was engaged in the harmonic analysis and prediction of tides for the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey.
