Abstract

AbstractThe release of tumor antigens during traditional cancer treatments leads to a stimulation of the immune response which provides synergistic effects these treatments have when combined with immunotherapies (e.g., based on check‐point blockade). Based on a low‐dimensional mathematical model, the interactions between chemo‐ and immunotherapy are analyzed and optimal control problems for the combination therapy are considered.
