Abstract

The dynamics of the Heisenberg ferromagnetic spin chain is of fundamental importance in soliton theory, as it is a typical model system which is completely integrable under suitable circumstances and is endowed with interesting geometrical aspects [1,2]. In particular, the one-dimensional continuum limit of the classical Heisenberg ferromagnet with uniaxial anisotropy is a completely integrable solitonic system and is gauge equivalent to the nonlinear Schrodinger equation (or generalizations) [3,4]. In this article, we consider the influence of external magnetic fields on the dynamics of the spin chain.
