Abstract
The purpose of this note is to give counterexamples for the conjectured existence of convex solutions in two closely related free boundary problems. The first free boundary problem arises in fluid dynamics, the second in the work of Laurence and Stredulinsky on queer differential equations in plasma physics (see [5])
