Abstract
Protostellar disks are intrinsically unstable to thermal convection in the direction normal to the plane of the disk. We construct nonaxisymmetric solutions of the linearized governing equations in order to determine the properties of convective instabilities in inviscid adiabatic disks. We find that there can be unstable disturbances which result in outward transport of angular momentum
