Abstract

I was asked (probably because I was the first non-panel member to put in my oar) to provide a rebuttal to the ideas presented at the panel discussion Universal Perspectives of Music. Although I am firmly opposed to the position taken by McAllester I find myself equally firmly planted in the position taken by Wachsmann. Thus this is not really a rebuttal but merely a reinforcement of Wachsmann's position based on some of my experiences and observations.
