On the New Photoelectrical Method for Printing Smoothness “Tape Printing Method.”

Abstract

The measuring method and the quantative analysis of the tape printed patterns are described. The “Mean Signal Value” and “Mean Signal Density” are difined from the recorded signals of the Tape Printing Recorder. The “Mean Signal Value” and “Mean Signal Density” at high Tape Printing pressure, over 5.3 kg/cm, have good correlation to I.G.T. printing test for the five paper, newsprint, heavy coated paper and light coated paper. Then, we have proposed the new printability tester by using the tape printing method.
