Abstract

This paper includes the results of the analysis of the multiplet structure in the low-temperature luminescence spectra of a large number of organic molecules in n-paraffin solutions, as well as a number of impurity aromatic molecular crystals. A new approach to the interpretation of the Shpol’skii effect is proposed, which is based on taking into account the symmetry properties of the impurity molecule and the matrix crystal. Calculated data are compared with experimental results.
