Abstract

The hydrodynamical equations for superfluid in the presence of vortex lines are obtained from microscopic theory. The appropriate mutual friction force is expressed in terms of correlation functions which can be calculated from the solution for a single line. In the case of a weakly interacting bose gas this expression simplifies and it is possible to connect the friction force with characteristics of the scattering problem for excitations in the field of a vortex line. The final expression contains, besides the transport cross section, some other characteristics of the scattering problem due to the singularity on the vortex line, and consequently differs from the results of other authors on this subject. The additional terms change considerably the magnitude of the friction force.
