Abstract

The transfer matrix method and successive average resistivity criterion for localisation of electronic states have been used to study the Soukoulis-Economou model (1982) of the one-dimensional system with incommensurate potentials. Numerical studies show that, for a case studied extensively, where En=1.9/(cos(0.7n)+1/3 cos (1.4n)), all electronic states of the middle sub-bands are extended and there is no so-called 'local mobility edge'.
