Abstract

Abstract The properties of the octupole vibrational states are calculated using the theory of part I. In this way, it is possible to give a common description of all octupole states in the considered region including the very low-lying Kπ = 0− states in the isotopes of Ra and Th. The Coriolis coupling between the states of the octupole quadruplet is taken into account in the calculations. The resulting theoretical spectra are compared with the experimental data.
