Abstract

Reduction of exogenous NADP by NADH 2 in submitochondrial particles has been shown to proceed by an energy-unrelated and an energy-related transhydrogenase sequence. The latter is activated by Mg 2+ and ATP, and inhibited by oligomycin and uncouplers of oxidative phosphorylation. Energy-linked NADP reduction, in addition, appears related to the energy-coupled reactions of oxidative phosphorylation.
