Abstract

The well known mean field equations for a spin glass described by an Ising model are solved analytically for temperatures close to the freezing temperature Tc. Specific heat, susceptibility and remanent magnetisation are obtained in terms of two parameters which have to be derived from a certain eigenvalue problem. Fluctuation effects are also discussed and it is shown that they are rather important.
