Abstract
Full scale measurement on ship maneuverability in harbor waterways was conducted with the training ship “Sioji-Maru III”. The tested items are the same ones recommended by IMO for the revised maneuvering booklet. The captive model tests and the free running model tests were also conducted and the motions of the full scale ship were predicted with new MMG model which was developed for the ship maneuverability in harbor waterways.From the above results, it is found that the predicted results are in good agreement with the experimental results and the prediction method may be put into practical use for estimating the maneuvering information to be included in the maneuvering booklet.
