Abstract

About a geometrical field, defined by the grain radius R, H c1 ∗ = φ 0/π·R 2 , the increase of the Meissner-fraction (MF) as determined from the field-cooled magnetization of Y(123) and Bi(2223) becomes sensitive to particle size and intergranular coupling. We associate these oberservations with a crossover from granular to intergranular pinning of flux expelled by the grains.
