Abstract
The limiting fineness of powders in jet pulverization was investigated with a circulating type jet pulverizer, Jet-O-Mizer 102. Sizes of pulverized powders decrease with the decrease of feeding rate of material into the jet pulverizer. At the point of zero feeding rate, pulverized ultra fine powder might be circulated in the mill for an infinitely long time and might accordingly attain the limiting fineness. From this preliminary experiment, it is observed that the limiting fineness is affected neither by feed size nor by nozzle air pressure but by grindability and also density of materials.
