Abstract

An endochronic model is described and shown to lead to elastic as well as plastic behavior in the limit case of k = 1, in contrast to Fazio's claim that the limit case cannot lead to plasticity. The slope of the stress-strain curve is represented by a function F(X) whose functional form is numerically investigated. The study includes straining, unstraining and cyclic straining. The equations of the general form of this model have also been derived.
