Abstract

Lawful Interception (LI) is one of the main provisions needed for the Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) to intercept a suspect or deal with criminal activities. However, it was easy and expensive to implement in legacy networking due to its centralized administration. Considering this situation, we aim at contributing to the next generation of intelligent lawful interception technology exploiting Software-Defined Network (SDN) technology for reference to deploy intercept access point (IAP) in hybrid SDN where SDN nodes and non-SDN (N-SDN) nodes coexist. Therefore, we put forward three SDN interception models (e.g., T model, ECMP-T model, Fermat-point model) in hybrid SDN. In other words, the algorithms of running three SDN interception models can be viewed as a cost-effective three-points shortest path algorithm with low time and space complexity. Running three SDN interception models, we can thus deploy the best intercept access point reasonably in hybrid SDN, realizing lawful interception of whole lawful interception system.
