Abstract

AbstractThe experimentally observed dispersion curves of alkali metals are reproduced using second‐order perturbation theory and the local Heine‐Abarenkov model potential. The effect of different forms of exchange and correlation on the phonon frequency, the compressibility problem, and the crossing of dispersion curves in [001] direction are investigated.
