Abstract

We have performed self-consistent spin polarized Korringa-Kohn-Restoker-Coherent Potential Approximation (KKR-CPA) cluster calculations to study the origin of the negative Knight shift of Cu and Ag in Cu xPd 1-x and Ag xPd 1-x, respectively. Our calculations are able to explain the experimental data and support the interpretation of these negative shifts based so far on various experimental findings.
