On the Issue of Subjectivity of the Logistics Performance Index

Abstract

At the present stage, in connection with competitive confrontation between countries, we consider it important to study the factors that influence the economy of any state. Since logistics affects not only the enterprise’s efficiency, but also development of the country’s economy, we consider its efficiency indicator to be one of the most important factors that determine the competitiveness of the state. However, in scientific studies of many authors, there is an opinion about unreliability, subjectivity of the logistics efficiency index, and, consequently, the conclusion that it is impossible to use this rating to assess the competitiveness of the state. The authors analyse the logistics efficiency index, which, in their opinion, makes it possible to establish a connection between development of the country’s logistics system and some indicators of the economy state of the corresponding country.
