Abstract

The article analyzes the modern concepts of vocational guidance. Detailed analysis of the use of continuous vocational guidance in member countries of the European Union as an effective tool promoting employment that allows every person in every moment of life to determine their potential and interest in learning and work. The author notes that a characteristic feature of lifelong vocational guidance, which is used in member countries of the European Union, there is a close interaction with educational guidance. In the article notes that the right to vocational guidance in Ukraine is guaranteed to every person and should be provided by the provision of career guidance services to choose or change of profession, activity and other career guidance services. The system of lifelong vocational guidance characterized by the following features: an integral part of public policy in education, training, employment and social integration; includes the provision of career guidance services in schools, colleges, universities, employment offices, workplaces, etc; State plays the role of career guidance services provider and monitors the quality of their provision; public policy of continuous vocational guidance developed at national, regional and local level. The author gives the definition of vocational guidance as a complex of interrelated economic, social, medical, psychological and educational activities aimed at helping the person of any age throughout their lives in making rational decisions about choosing or changing profession, type of work and manage their career
