Abstract
Partial cross sections of definite parity, calculated for electronic-rotational energy transfer in the F + H 2 collision system, interweave with increasing total angular momentum J. An explanation, in terms of diabatic curve crossings induced by the centrifugal potential in the body-fixed coordinate system, predicts the interweaving to occur only in systems having half-integer J.
