Abstract

Prominent features of acoustic emission (AE) are established during stage III of plastic deformation of the [110] oriented Cu-9 at. % Al single crystals. The increase of the AE-level, the appearance of typical narrow-band spectral components of about 500 kHz and the lowfrequency oscillations of AE activity with a period of about 6 s are discussed. The interpretation of the phenomenon observed is given on the basis of a concept of the dislocation dipoles dissociation having an avalanche-like character.
