Abstract
An interpretation of fuzzy IF-THEN rule bases using certain classes of indicators for fuzzified set inclusion and set equality is defined. Some properties of this interpretation and the chaining of fuzzy IF-THEN rule bases are investigated from a theoretical point of view.
