Abstract

What behavior processes will lead to a Nash equilibrium of an N-person game? Two very general processes are examined. For finite games with finite-horizon generalized fictitious play, strict mixed-strategy Nash equilibria are shown to be unstable. For almost all finite games with discrete or continuous time generalized gradient processes, mixed-strategy Nash equilibria are shown to be unstable.
