Abstract

AbstractThis work deals deals with a constitutive approach that enables the independent modelling of shear and elongation behaviour. Studies are performed for a rising air bubble in a closed tank to investigate the influence of strain hardening on the shape of the bubble. It is shown that the occurrence of a cusp at the rear pole, which is well known to form in polymeric liquids, can be related to strain hardening only.
